BFTHF Induction Process
Each year, the Pointer/Setter, Brittany, Retriever, Spaniels, GSPs hold
their Induction Ceremonies at the Sporting Dog Center in Grand Junction, TN.
This process is held on the first week end in February just prior to the
start of the Pointer/Setter National Championship. This is a big festivity
for all pointing breeds.
Induction is very formal. The inductee is introduced. The inductee’s
presenter is introduced. And any additional people who are part of the
Induction Ceremony are introduced. Next the presenter makes his /her remarks
to or for the inductee. If the additional people have any remarks, they are
made. Then the inductee makes his remarks. Appropriate scrolls emblematic of
the election to the BFTHF have been prepared and at this time, the inductee
is given his scroll. Finally, a commemorative BFTHF label pin is presented
to the inductee.
The inductee’s picture will be hung in the Hall of Fame. A picture is not
needed immediately, but you need to work on it!
If the inductee is a Brittany, the recommended picture size is 22 x 24 and
for a person the picture size is 18 x 22.
In the background the following has been done:
1. Formal announcement of each year’s elected people/Brittanys.
BDC will send announcements to each inductee and to any inductee friends
that have been identified.
Announcements will appear in the American Field and/or the American Brittany
Magazine.
2. The inductee names will be added to the formal BFTHF roster.
The official roster is part of the brochure for the BFTHF induction
ceremony.
3. A yearly BFTHF brochure to be available at the induction ceremony is
prepared
After appropriate applause, the inductee is now a member of the BFTHF.
